After the show in Munich I really had a short vacation this year. I visited a very good friend and her family for a few days between the concerts in Munich and Zürich. They live close to the border to Switzerland. And from her house I began my following two concerts. First I went to Zürich. The weather had improved a little bit and in contrast to Munich it seemed as it would be a 'hot day in the spring' when I reached the venue. However, in reality it was still cold and not really springtime! At the doors i met up with the “usual suspects”, Tina, Sandra, Paola, Anne-Marie ..., so it was another, not boring waiting time, because of much chatting! :-) In Switzerland the Minds had no support band. I got one more time a place in the middle of the front row and stood in front of Jim Kerr. But he didn’t look bored to saw always the same faces in the front row. And after a day off for the band they were again full of power, energy and fun. It was great to see and ‘feel’ that the Minds really were getting better and better! Show after show and night after night. Maybe they must play live like other people need the air to the breath to feel alive!?
In Zürich there was a little surprise. “Sleeping Girl” got back to the setlist. I loved that song during this tour. And they played again “Hypnotised”! It was a wonderful setlist. Nothing was missing! After the show we waited at the backdoor in front of the bus, and it started again with raining but we waited, although. I had picked up a poster from the wall inside of the venue, it was a promo poster for the next day concert in Winterthur, and i got the autographs from all of the band! Mel was very fast that night and he steped into the bus while Eddie was signing my poster, but Steve, the very nice bus driver, realised that Mel was missing and he took him back, only to sign my poster! WOW! They are really all very nice and friendly with their fans! Thank you Steve and Mel!
