After a short night; i haven’t seen my friends for a long time, and we had to tell a lot. In the morning we had a nice breakfast together and then around midday i said goodbye and started my next trip, down to Stuttgart. It was a long 6,5 hour ride, but with the ‘right’ music (Simple Minds, of course) it was nice and easy. I had booked a hotelroom just on the other side from the venue so i haven’t any trouble the next day, going to the venue. The next day i had a look at the venue, the doors were open but inside the venue all doors were closed, so there was nothing to see. But the front doors should be opened the whole time, so this day we haven’t had to wait the hours in the cold. Thank you dear staff from the Theatre! But there was another problem. There were two doors, and nobody knew which one or if maybe both would be opened. At last, they opened both doors, but not as the same time, and the door i was standing in front off was the slower one! Argh, but hey, i got the place in the front row between Jim and Eddie - perfect as usual! :-)
For me this gig was beautiful. The crowd were in a perfect mood and the Simple Minds were in a very good mood too. They obviously liked to be there and played the songs in an incredible beautiful way! Jim was dancing and jumping like a young boy and he always joked with the crowd. Eddie had a big grin in his face for the whole time and Charlie too. It was marvellous!
But also the nicest two hours pass by, so these also. But we decide encore to wait again at the bus after the show. I got a setlist and it would be nice to get some autograph from the band on it. And yes we had the luck this night, the band pass by and they were very nice and signed my setlist and Jim was shivering in the cold, but he was nice as well, he spoke even a little with us, and then he even still smiled for a photo with me. Thank you Jim, you are really one of the nicest and friendliest 'stars' i’d ever met (lol, i haven’t met many!) ;-)
