We had a “day off” between the gig in Taormina and the show in Palermo and we used the free time to visit the Mt. Etna. (Photos will be find at the “Taormina-Site”). The Mt. Etna was in activities these days, but the lava was going down in north site and we visited the Mt. Etna from the south, so we couldn’t see the lava, nevertheless, we heard the mountain ' he bubbled'!! It was an unbelievable feeling!
The next day, before we goes to Palermo, we had to say goodbye to Lourdes. The Palermo show was announced very late and she had already booked her flight home. Barbara, Andreas and me, we had more luck, our flight was at Wednesday and so we could go to Palermo too. But before we left the hotel there was one more thing for me to do. I had to swim in the pool of the Villa Angela! :-) and well, i did!!!! The arriving in Palermo was terrible, because we had wrong infos about the venue, but the show was seated again and at last we arrived in time. The surrounding of the venue is beautiful, but the venue it self, the crowd and the securities were terrible. It wasn’t allowed to get up from the seats, it wasn’t allowed to have fun. After a few minutes, when the show had begun i got up, made a step right and stood in the middle of the stairs, but a few minutes later a security came and asked me to go down and to the very right side. I couldn’t understand it, but i did it. And there, at the very right side of the venue i could dance and i had much fun, but it was again a position where i can’t make good photos. The crowd was really terrible, nobody got up of the seats (except Barbara and Andreas, the security could not detain them! ;-D ). During the show Jim came of the stage to walk by the crowd, and a lot of people were suddenly around him, everybody wanted to catch and touches him, but when he returned to the stage, everybody sat down again immediately! Incredibly! The Simple Minds did a very good show, the played two songs less then in Taormina, but the crowd haven’t earned more!!!
The next morning, when we checked out from Villa Angela Jim had a little chat with us. And he told us that the show in Palermo two years ago was a Disaster, this time he was disappointed of the crowd! And if we had asked him before, he had advised us not to go to Palermo!
But at last, we had a beautiful time in Taormina and in Palermo as well. We enjoyed every minute and we are sure that we will come back!!!!
