The time goes by in a flew in the Hilton bar and the folks left the bar one after another to see the Simple Minds. The Wembley Arena is only a foot step from the Hilton, but if you has the cold and the wind is heavy, it feels that the way take hour to walk... And for me, I had the worst place ever at this journey. My place was at the second balcony lefthand to the stage and I only could see the stage and band from a sideview. Horrible. And the people around... no words. Ok, just a few. They were like chickens in a cage, always talking, they only drunk and eat and talked. Not one of them were dancing, singing or looked to have fun. Ok one of them had much fun, danced and sung and clapped her hands - me! :-) I think because of my bad place the recording of the show is horrible this time, but i’ll put it to this homepage, only because of the archives. By the way, this time all my recordings are very bad, in my opinion. Maybe because my mp3 recorder (and myself) getting old and grey?! - Doesn’t matter - anyway, back to the show. As Jim starts singing “Someone Somewhere In Summertime” Charlie and his guitar wasn’t ready, but Jim noted it very fast and they began once more - and Jim shouted out - “That’s better!” - Yes, it was!!
In London the Minds played a shorter main set (they renounced “All the things she said”) however, instead, they played three encores. The first was “She’s a river”. I like this song, but in London I heard the worst version ever. It sounded like two bands (in this case Jim and the other from the band) try to played the same song but in a different tempo. Atrocious! - Sorry Simple Minds, but that was not the way to play “She’s a river”. But all in all, it was another great live performances from the Simple Minds - nevertheless I like them, also for the small 'mistakes'! Because of my cold the next day i stayed in the Hotel instead of a sightseeing-tour through London and I had a small talk with Lore, Viviane and Darryn. On Monday I met my very best friend from spain, Lourdes, in the City centre of London for a coffee and a lunch. It was so good to see her again after a long time. Thanks again, Lourdes, for the lunch and the fun (also with your Niece and your friends) we had in this short time in London! Late in the evening or better at midnight I was back home, only for a few hours, to wash my clothes and then starts again for the next journey, my last gig in Glasgow...
