Glasgow was my first show from the Black & White Tour 06 and what should i say, it was a marvellous show!!!! Thank you Peter, to let it happened to me! :-) After 20 gigs at all, it’s hard to remember each single gig but i try to let you know some things which i remember. This gig was my second show in Glasgow, so it was very easy to find the right ways. I has travelled with a Colleague from my office, his brother and the wife of his brother. For them it was the first trip to Glasgow and i could help them in some ways. It was very nice, but unfortunately we chose different hotels. We arrived at Glasgow on Friday evening and so i had the whole saturday for some sightseeing tours around Glasgow and some time for a shoping walk. And during this shoping walk i saw Jim Kerr in a book/CD store! I did not talked to him because I did not want to disturb him, he was on the move in his own private walk, and he has surely the right on his private life, but if I am honest, my heart beats a little bit faster, for a short moment, I had not reckoned meeting him, I was surprised to see him in his 'normal' life, I think. But after this moment everything was ok for me, i became sure that the Minds were in town and the show would be happened the next day! At sunday i met some members from the community at a pub and this was very nice, nice to met them again or for the first time and had a talk with each. Then we went to the venue and waits at the closed door which should open a little time later at the evening. I found a place at the right side in the second or maybe in the third row but got a good view at the stage from this point. The crowd is special in Glasgow. They don’t danced to the music, they always jumped and for sure, they sung along with the Minds! Not really fine but loud! :-) Two hours later you could saw many happy faces and some of us took a drink at the bar in the venue and we saw some members from the Minds, i saw Charlie, Eddie and also Andy Gillespie. There i met Billy Sloan again, and we had a short chat, but he was in a hurry, like a few months ago. It was a brilliant gig and be sure, it worth to go to Glasgow for a Simple Minds show. After all, it was, it is and it will be their hometown!
