After the great concert in Amsterdam, there was another chance to saw the Simple Minds live.
They were confirmed at a small German TV show called “TV Total”. This show is a kind of comedy show with sometimes some live music from “famous” Bands. I bought a ticket and took on my travelling shoes one more time. In Cologne at the TV-Studio i met Tina, Sandra and Doris and after a short while Babara and Andreas arrived too. I don’t know how many people are allowed for to show, maybe 200 or 250, but only 6 Simple Minds fans?!?!? - What a shame!
But we were determined to support the Minds as if we were 100 or 1000! And so we did!!!
At the show was a guest, a german comedian and he talked about his new upcoming TV show. We all thought, that the Minds would have a little interview with “Stefan Raab” the show presenter, but they don’t have. The last thing in the show was the song “Home” from the Minds. They performed it live and yeah, they did it in a fantastic way. Jim Kerr don’t mixed the words and sung in the right order!
Marvellous! Brilliant!
As Jim recognized us 6 fans, standing at the last row at the top of the studio, he got a big smile in his face and waved his hand for a “Hello” to us!
During the song, and after recognizing us, it looks like he only played the song for us! He always looked in our direction and shake the “Home-Hand” in our way!
All the other people in the studio were placed at their seat, nobody stood up like us, only a few clapped their hands. The crowd was terrible. I think the Minds has liked these 6 crazy fans at the last row, because we were the only ones which celebrate the song!!! And after seeing and hearing the viedo, i think we did a good job! The applause and “yelling noises” came only from these 6 crazy following Simple Minds fans!
After the show, we left the studio and wait for a short while at the doors. We all thought, that the performance of the song was brilliant, but we were also a little bit disappointed, because of the “not-existing interview-part”. But it was a nice trip! While we were waiting and talking some of the Minds left in a small car and they saw us and waved their hands for a “good bye!”
It was a nice but very short trip but i was not in the mood to say: “Okay, now you've to wait five months for the next live experience .....” - no, i wouldn't!!!
