After the show in Hannover there was a day off and then the Minds rock my hometown!!!
I was very early at the venue, because for my “Heimspiel” it was a “must” to got a place in the first row. And after hours of waiting in the cold outside, ok it was sunny and not so windy like in Hannover, but cold as well. But there were many “familiar faces” waiting too, so the time went by very quick. And after these hours of waiting i really got “my” place in the front row, between Jim and Eddie.
After this day off the Minds were strong again, rested and in a good mood and the show started with ‘Stay Visible’ again. At the end of the ‘normal set’ there was a big surprise. The Minds played ‘Belfast Child’ and the crowd loved to hear it. Yes, they really loved it. If there was somebody in the crowd which thought, OK, these are the Simple Minds but these are not the Minds from her best days, he changed his opinion after hearing 'Belfast Child'! It was marvellous. Jim, Charlie, Eddie and Mel played their part very concentrated and strongly, BRILLIANT. I love 'Dolphins' that's for sure, but for the live show 'Belfast Child' is much better to finish the first part of the show, according to my opinion. And it was a pleasure seeing 'Belfast Child' came back to setlist.
Bielefeld was my eighth concert of the tour, and the Minds held what they had promised, no set list was the same, there were always small rearrangements, one song was substituted with another and there were also 'bigger' surprises, like ‘Belfast Child’. And you could see and feel that the Minds really enjoyed it, to be back onstage again.
