Avenches - One week ago the Swiss rocked
Hi, now i'm back home from my short holidays and i will let you know my own feelings to the last summer-gig of SM.
My journey starts at friday the 13. (the date would become a nightmare) with big trouble. Only 130 km from home my car stopped with a non repairing engine-break, but at this time i dosen't know that.
I drive back home and change the rented car with the car from my mother and drive again in the south of germany to my girlfriend which i would meet after the SM-gig and stay at her home for my holiday.
But saturday the last SM-gig in Avenches was planned and i arreived at the venue a few minutes before the doors opened, cause the bad circumstances wouldn’t ended, on the highway was a big ‘stop-and-go’, the trip takes hours and hours.
The Swiss are sometimes a very 'slow' nation, i think. Before the doors should be opened i got a place at the first row behind the blocking and so i was one of the first who enters the venue and with a little help from Paola and Sandra i got a place in the middle of the front row!!! (Thanks ladies!) :-)
The sun came out of the clouds and it was a beautiful evening in Avenches with 'friends through the music' around.
It was the first time i met the Italian Ladies Paola and Paola and we have much fun.
And as every SM-gig i met some other nice community members, Anne-Marie, Vesna, Cara, Rebekka and Carine with her family!
During the first act I asked a camara-lady for some ear-protected, cause the “litte fat man” music was very loud.
The second act “Corneille” has also a big fan community around, but they were almost very young, children and teenager all around ;-) the music was for me a little boring, like “easy listening”, too soft and “brave”, but dosen’t matter, the audience have fun so it was okay.
And than after the stage was prepared there was music and magic around….
All the trouble i've had in the last few weeks ago felt off from me and i was really at home when the intro of the SM-gig starts this evening.
Thank you SM, that i ever could forget all the bad things around when your music reached my ears, soul and heart!
Jim was really mad and crazy by singing “OSC”, he was jumping and dancing, always smiling and throwing kisses to the crowd. At some parts of the song he was only shouting and not singing.
Was it that he really wants to feel the last summer show with every piece of his body, heart and soul?
For me it seemed so.
But he and the other of the band were in a very good mood. They all have fun during the show, i think.
For me, the set was a little bit changed, I could dream and dance to Spaceface and Hypnotised, but during Spaceface a mad photographer disturb a little cause he dosen’t make photos from the band but without stopping he shoots me. Sorry, I don’t know why, I was only dreaming and dancing as ususal at this song. Maybe he wants some pics from a mad and crazy dancing lady as bad sign for his children what could be happened through poor insane rock’n’roll fans?! I don’t know!
The sound was really good. And I enjoyed every minute of the show!
Than “our actions” starts, the “banner-show” began and it was really a “hard job” to show the right banners in the right order and way, but is was funny! I only hope the SM thought the same!
Big Sleep. The song I heared the first time during this summer and it was so good to hear that song at last.
But for the last show the set was really too short. After NGD the band left the stage for the break and come back with Alive & Kicking and my heart make a jump, next to last song and with SY the last summer concert was at it’s end.
Yes, that was it. End. Out. Past.
But Jim could leave the stage. He requested the crowd again and again to further applause but the show was over and in the end Jim leave the stage with throwing kisses to all. Bye-bye.
I haven’t tears in my eyes after the show, I wasen’t sad. This summer I was able to see the SM 6 times and every gig leave great memories to my heart. I met so many lovely people everywhere, and I’m sure that Avenches was not the last show of the Simple Minds. Not after this three years with so many good feelings they left to the audience and the power and energy they got back from the crowd. I can’t believe that they will stopped playing live in the next few years. Once they will stopped, that’s for sure, but not yet!!!!
And you all know, the next show is already annonced!!!!
Now my holiday is over and I’m back in a bad and hard reality. Car broken, mother feels better but isen’t really healthy and at last my purse is empty.
REAL LIFE?
Yes, but there will be a NEW SUNSHINE MORNING and I’m ALIVE & KICKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
